Revolutionizing Ground Protection: Meet MaxiTrack®
While heavy-duty ground protection is often the right way of doing things, historically it hasn’t been the easy or affordable way.
That’s why DICA is excited to announce becoming the first U.S. distributor of MaxiTrack® — the only heavy-duty ground protection and access mats that can be moved, deployed, and retrieved by hand, without the extra time and expenses that come with mechanical lifting.
MaxiTrack Mats are incredibly strong, yet lightweight enough for two people to easily carry. At 1” thick and weighing only 88 lbs, these 3’x6’ overlapping and interlocking mats eliminate the need for secondary equipment to deploy and retrieve matting. Better yet, MaxiTrack also increases the speed of installation and makes heavy-duty matting available for more job sites. Manufactured by UK-based GroundGuards, MaxiTrack is now a proud addition to DICA’s ground protection lineup.
“One of our guiding principles is to develop and offer ‘Unique Products’ to solve customer challenges,” says Kris Koberg, DICA’s CEO. “MaxiTrack has unique heavy-duty capabilities because it solves issues when a lightweight mat isn’t stiff enough and a traditional heavy-duty mat is too large, heavy, and expensive.
“These thick, tough, and sturdy interlocking mats are eight times as stiff as typical ½” thick ground protection mats. MaxiTrack can support heavy loads from both tracked and wheeled equipment for extended periods of time.”
MaxiTrack’s interlocking flanged design makes its strength possible. Unlike traditional mats, which can only be connected once they’re butted together, MaxiTrack’s flanges overlap and can be bolted together, using the mats’ integrated bolt feature. This feature allows the assembled MaxiTrack pieces to function as a single unit, creating incredible stiffness and strength in a lightweight, easily moveable mat system.
The overlapping mat design also helps prevent mud seepage and allows for expansion and contraction, an especially important feature for both temporary roads and long-term installations.
“We’re working on a wilderness project” Koberg describes, “where a permanent trail requires mat coverage instead of gravel. In the wet areas, MaxiTrack Mats are being selected to ensure the trail remains open and the groundwater can migrate under the trail.”
Good for deployment over a variety of surfaces, including grass, concrete, and soggy or uneven ground, MaxiTrack can be installed in a wide range of configurations, including tight areas, and asymmetric shapes. It can also be installed and removed quickly. Without the need for secondary equipment to move MaxiTrack, a crew of four workers can install over 1000 square feet of mats in under an hour.
MaxiTrack especially benefits customers in industries that use various types and sizes of equipment, whether wheeled or tracked. “MaxiTrack mats can solve the unique needs of folks in industries such as tree care,” Koberg says. “They’re buying bigger and bigger equipment, equipment that needs to be supported in residential yards and similar environments.
“Wheeled equipment can create ruts, and tracked equipment can tear up lawns when turning,” he continues. “Both types of equipment benefit from having roadways for hard-to-access or moisture-soaked job sites. With MaxiTrack, damage can be eliminated or minimized, reducing any reclamation work.”
The product is available for immediate shipment, and shipments include MaxiTrack’s standard 17mm bolts.
“We’re pleased to offer MaxiTrack,” Koberg says. “MaxiTrack is in demand because it checks the box for heavy-duty support that’s also deployable by hand. It’s the only product out there where you can do that.”
