DICA Invited to Attend EUFMC Fleet Managers Conference
May 19, 2014 (Guthrie Center, Iowa) DICA Outrigger Pads will exhibit at the Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference (EUFMC), June 1-4, 2014 in Williamsburg, Va. DICA joins an elite group of about 100 companies which have been asked to display their products at this by-invitation-only event.
Held annually, EUFMC allows utility fleet professionals to view the latest fleet products and technology and engage in educational sessions and discussions pertaining to design, procurement, application, operation, and maintenance of equipment used by Electric Utilities.
“We are honored to be asked to participate in this unique event for investor-owned utilities. Well known for attracting respected industry leaders, DICA will share industry best practices for providing stable outrigger set up of digger derricks, cranes, and bucket trucks” said Kris Koberg, CEO of DICA Outrigger Pads.
Featuring Safety Tech and FiberMax Products for Utility Applications
DICA will feature Safety Tech® outrigger pads and a newly introduced line of FiberMax Outrigger Pads, Crane Pads, and Crane Mats—products ideally suited to utility maintenance and construction applications.
Safety Tech Medium Duty Outrigger Pads are constructed of engineered thermoplastic material and feature industrial grade safety texturing. TuffGrip® handles and radius edges and corners provide effective ergonomic safety. Radius (rounded) edges and corners contribute to ergonomic safety by eliminating the potential for laceration or puncture injuries caused by sharp edges and pointed corners. Measuring 1-inch thick, Medium Duty Outrigger Pads are appropriate for small to medium size aerial lifts and digger derricks..
DICA will also display the 2-inch thick Heavy Duty line of Safety Tech Outrigger Pads, which are designed to support rough terrain and truck mounted cranes, as well as larger digger derricks and aerial lifts. The full line includes eight models, three of which are round, allowing operators to roll the pads into position. Models DR362, DR482, and DR602 feature U.S. Patented TuffGrip recessed handles to assist with rolling.
Launched in early 2014, DICA will also feature new FiberMax Heavy Duty Outrigger Pads, Super Duty Crane Pads, and Mega Duty Crane Mats. Made of fiber reinforced polymers, FiberMax features higher rigidity properties than the Safety Tech product line. The FiberMax Heavy Duty and Super Duty products have a very high concentration of fiberglass reinforcements, which creates a crush strength in excess of 400,000 psi and an average flexural yield strength of 60,000 psi.
Measuring 3/4-inch thick, FiberMax Heavy Duty Outrigger Pads are appropriate for all different types of outrigger-stabilized construction equipment rated up to 100 tons and requiring up to 16 square feet of support.
The FiberMax Super Duty Crane Pad line is specifically designed to provide the support mobile cranes need on softer soil or poorly compacted ground. Measuring 1 ½ – inches thick, they provide a rigid base for equipment needing 9 to 16 square feet of area.
The FiberMax Mega Duty Crane Mat line, available in standard thicknesses from 4” to 10”, can be fitted to any crane currently manufactured. They are specifically designed for high capacity cranes, especially those rated at 100 tons and up, that require large load distributing footprints on a variety of soil conditions, including low soil bearing pressures.
“Utilities working in transmission and distribution maintenance and construction will find that FiberMax Mega Duty Crane Mats can significantly reduce crane mat transportation costs because they weigh about 50% less than steel constructed mats. Yet, they provide superior load weight distribution on low soil bearing capacity conditions,” said Koberg. “We look forward to showing utility companies how the FiberMax product line can improve safety and productivity on the job.”
DICA, Guthrie Center, Iowa, has been specializing in building a better outrigger pad since 1988. By creating engineered solutions for improving equipment stability and ergonomic safety, DICA has led the way in product innovation that outperforms wood and steel alternatives.
DICA outrigger pads, crane pads, and crane mats are used in a wide number of markets around the world, including construction, electrical utility, oil and gas and tree care as well as local, state and federal government agencies.
