Below is a Winter Safety Alert Bulletin from Terex. We post this information at the beginning of each winter to help answer frequently asked questions regarding outrigger pad use in snow and ice conditions.

Winter has its grip on many areas of the country, leaving snow and ice on the ground. Cold and snow cover does not stop line work. The damage from ice and snowstorms increase the workload and urgency to finish repairs. It also brings in new crews, who work long hours, to help restore power and repair damage from broken poles, downed wires, and fallen trees.

Don’t jeopardize your safety by passing safe work practices. Safe work practices are even more important to follow when the crews are cold and tired. Your injury, death or equipment damage is not work the time saved rushing to complete work.

RV Jack Pads – Testimony #234 John Behrens

I have had the opportunity to use the RV Jack Pads twice with our new 5^th wheel trailer. The first use was on soft beach sand and the second was on combined gravel and dirt hard surface. Both times they worked very well and I am pleased that I have them. As a comparison point, I extended the jacks directly on the dirt and gravel surface. There was a noticeable difference in the rig stability which surprised me. I am pleased with them so far.
